I’m Confused or Is He Using Me?

A letter to Juliet and a response in the voice of Juliet

Author’s Note: This is a letter in the voice of a helpless girl needing advice from Juliet and a response from Juliet to the girl. What consequences are followed?

Dear Juliet,

Last year I wrote you a letter about a guy who at the time was my ex. Well we got back together over the summer and now I’m not sure if I like the relationship or not. He didn’t want people to know about us for the first few weeks of school and now all of a sudden he wants people to know that we are together. It feels like I was a secret but now, I’m just someone that he can show off and say, “Hey I have a girlfriend what do you think about that?”   I just really don’t like it, although I do like the feeling that he’s all mine. I just really want to know how to solve it.

Dear Arielle,

I am a little confused at what you are saying. If you really like this guy it wouldn’t matter if he kept you a secret or not. It shouldn’t matter anyways.  You should remember that love is stronger than everything else. You can’t help it if you fall in love with.  However in some cases you might get hurt; maybe he’s hiding you because he’s cheating on you, or maybe he’s hiding you because he is ashamed to have people knowing that he likes you. In these cases you should confront him and tell him how you feel. Don’t keep it inside, if it’s bothering you then ask him why he’s hiding you.
